1. The EHS membership consists primarily of homiletics professors from North American seminaries and Bible Colleges who affirm, without reservation, the doctrinal statement of the National Association of Evangelicals, and thus treat preaching as the preaching of God's inspired, holy, and authoritative Word. 2. Membership is drawn primarily from those who teach homiletics at theological seminaries and Bible schools, but it is open to anyone committed to the stated purposes of the organization by reason of interest and involvement in preaching.  Other persons may include pastors, evangelists or graduate students.

3. There are three categories of membership:

A. Regular membership as an individual

B. Associate membership as a graduate student

C. Emeritus membership (Reserved for those members who previously held membership with EHS in category "A.")
